Donald Trump’s Reckless Iran Tweet

Trump To Iran's President Rouhani: 'NEVER, EVER THREATEN' The U.S. Again

On Sunday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in a televised speech to a national audience that the United States cannot stop his country from exporting oil, adding that"peace with Iran would be the mother of peace and war with Iran are the mother of all wars"

Donald Trump might have reacted like an unflappable world leader.  Instead, he responded in the favourite style of easily baited idiots: He submitted an all-caps tweet.  "To Iranian President Rouhani," he wrote.     Hassan Rouhani said in a speech to a national audience that the United States can't prevent his country from exporting oil, adding that"peace with Iran are the mother of all peace and war with Iran are the mother of all wars."

Donald Trump could have reacted like an unflappable world pioneer.  Rather, he replied in the favorite style of easily baited idiots: He posted an all-caps tweet.     BE CAUTIOUS!"
By responding that way, Trump dramatically inflated the range of Iranian words which would've otherwise been ignored.  And he spoke like rhetoric which wasn't even especially bellicose is itself good reason for warfare.

The episode reflects poorly on his fitness to be president.  Perhaps he's bluffing--which is to say, perhaps he would not, in fact, launch a potentially devastating war over mere words, preferring to ground such a momentous decision in the true material of American domestic security.  If that's the case, he talked recklessly: America gains nothing from a bluff of the sort and risks exposure if Iran chooses to call him on his words.  Trump foolishly put the U.S. at a reactive position.

Then again, perhaps the president was severe.  This would be much worse.  That would mean he's willing to establish a potentially devastating war over something as inconsequential as a foreign boss stating, in effect: You'd better go to war with us, you will regret it if you do.  Starting wars over such meager dangers would all but abolish peace.

Donald Trump’s Reckless Iran Tweet

Trump has long indulged the custom of erratically shooting his mouth off in needlessly antagonistic ways.  It used to be that his bellicose tweets were aimed at fellow celebrities like Rosie O'Donnell.  However, his supporters made him presidentso today, every time he tweets something unnaturally bellicose in a few of many moments at which he seems to lack self-control, the likelihood of a geopolitical catastrophe increase a bit.

In case Mike Pence were president, then the threats to national security that come with an erratic Twitter troll as president would be diminished.  And I fear that Trump is the kind who'd start a war with Iran simply to benefit himself --I dread that he was projecting :
Why are a lot of Republicans still excited to risk their nation's future by backing Trump?
